While I was at College, I worked at Buxtons in Nelson before school sweeping the floor and I also worked there during the school holidays
After I left school, I worked for three years in what was then the State Hydro Electricity Department in Nelson, first as a Clerical Cadet and then as a Clerk
During my time at Christchurch Teachers Training College, I worked harvesting various agricultural crops (such as picking peas) and also worked at Kirkpatrick's factory during the holidays
When I retired from teaching in 1995, I took up the position of Priest in Charge in the Buller Anglican Parish for a year and a half until the new Vicar was appointed and then we shifted to Nelson.
